strength training: leg workout
Nov 24, 2010Today I did a moderate intensity lower body workout. A moderate intensity strength training session involves doing sets of 8-10RM. Rest between sets was less than 2 minutes. For most of the exercises I performed 3 sets. You may recognize some of theses exercises from the Ulty Results newsletter.
Today's exercises:
- backward lunge
- straight legged deadlift (SLDL)
- single leg squat and pull
- incline hip lift (heel is elevated on a 4 inch step to increase difficulty)
- squat and touch
- cable pull through
The cable pull-through is an excellent exercise if you are wary of doing deadlifts or are new to the weight room. I highly recommend giving it a try!
